Blog Post 11.4: Your Child Has You, You have WIC

We loves babies, and we want to make sure our child is in good health. While walking around Rosedale Mall, I found this ad to be interesting. Why? Because on this ad promoted by National WIC is a display of a baby and a nutrition facts tattooed on her forehead. Also, at the bottom, you’ll see its quote “Everything comes with nutrition information. Except her.” There is no price but you can get from National WIC is information about nutrition, healthcare referrals, and even food. Make sure you are providing your baby or child’s with the right nutrition.

National WIC’s target audience is all parents and who have newly born babies. This sets a great awareness for parents to make sure they are providing the right nutrition for their baby in their first five years. As they pointed out in the picture, everything we buy and eat all have nutrition information. Therefore we get the nutritions we need, but as for babies or toddlers won’t get as much nutrition as we do. Quoted from National WIC’s ad, states “Poor nutrition in her first five years can affect her for the rest of her life.” National WIC will help provide nutritional information for your baby and child’s health benefits. I like this ad, because it lets us know that our child’s health is important.

Blog Post 11.3: Meet The Wild

Do you live in Minnesota? Do you love hockey? Are you a Wild’s fan? If the answer is yes, here is a chance to meet a few of them! On Friday, April 3rd, AME Sports is hosting a Meet & Greet with Jason Zucker and Marco Scandella located in Rosedale Mall! I found this ad next to the stairwells by the Game N Go in Rosedale Mall. Tickets are $15 each player or you can get two tickets for $25. Time for this event is at 6:00PM to 8:00PM. Don’t miss meeting these two awesome Wild Stars!

AME Sport’s target market is local Minnesota residence, loves hockey, generation X and Y, knows and love the Wilds. This is their target because the players are younger looking, during the winter most people would watch hockey. At first, I didn’t like the look of this ad, but the more I look at it I understood why they did it. First of all, this looks like a typical sports advertisement, because of its font and background designs. They did a great job putting the pictures of the members they were hosting because most people might not even know who they are. They did put the logo’s colors onto the poster to keep it as their main promotion aka the Wild. They did great on bringing out the date and time in the middle of the ad. Also, they added a puck at the bottom and have the Wild’s logo in front to represent what their ad was about. I thought that was a very good idea because it can attract others who likes hockey. I wish they would add ‘location’ on to the poster instead of putting AME Sports, but at the same time, it’s understandable. I like the ad but it’s color is dark and dim to where no one would pay attention to it. Overall, it’s like a typical sports ad and I do like their idea around it. However, go visit the Wild and get to know these players especially if you are their fans!

Blog Post 11.2: Know Your Child

Ever wonder how your child is doing in school? or somehow you never got to spend time to know them? I was walking around Rosedale Mall and found this ad. This ad is promoted by National PTA  for you parents to know how your child is doing in school. On this ad is a sheet of paper with two test questions, question one: I can recall a scene from a reality TV show, question two: I can recall visiting my kid’s school. There is no price for this ad but National PTA has set an awareness for parents to visit and know more about their kids.

National PTA’s target market is parents, because this is a set awareness for parents to turn to their kids and communicate with them. Parents are busy working and some do not spend enough time with their child. The reason National PTA chose these two question is a great idea. Most parents will recall a scene from a TV show more than recalling a scene at their kid’s school. They stated the obvious and connected a way to show studies without using numbers. I love how they added “Know what really matters” in pencil, which gave this ad more serious. This ad is a reminder to parents to remember the moments in their kid’s life and their education. Most parents do not know what their child is going through in their education or life. This awareness is a great set up for parents to look like and people like to take tests. This was by far a great advertisement.

Blog Post 10.4: Get Your Games N Go!

I was a Rosedale Mall with my fiancé and found this ad next to this Italian restaurant on the second floor, next to Herzbergers I believe. This ad promotes Game N Go’s store which is located at the lower level by Green Mills. They are known for buying, selling, and trading games. What they promote in this ad is that they give cash back for what ever game you sell to them, and they can fix your broken game devices. There are no price listed on here but if your Xbox or PS3 or 4 is broken and you can’t find a place nearby, you should try out Games N Go. They will save you time and it’s the easiest place to find.

Games N Go’s target is gamers, mainly boys ages of 16 to 35, and expect a little amount of woman gamers. They also target people with gaming devices such as Xbox, PS3 or 4, DS games, etc., and owns a lot of old or new games. They are similar to GameStop where they sell the same game devices except Games N Go sells the older game devices such as PS2 games, etc.

This ad did not work well with the location they were in, which is next to these two restaurant and across from Forever21, because not many gamers will come through this section. Also, the color was too dark and not attractive. It blended in with the rest of the dim lights. I understand why they set their ad next to a restaurant because when people are waiting in line and get bored they’ll start looking at an ad. Personally, this ad was not catchy. It did tell me what they were about and I do know their store. I think they should promote themselves in a different way such as telling them about their tournaments and event they put on the ads. If they promote something like a contest or giveaways. I believe this will draw more attention to their main target and loosen the dark colors. Also, I think the ‘fixing’ part in their ad is not needed because I think they should have this little ad inside their store so that when people walk in, it can also draw their attention at the front cashier. Personally, I didn’t like this ad because of the color even though it’s a manly color but it’s not attractive enough for even both genders to look at. I believe they could have created something better. I don’t know what their logo is but if that is their logo, I think it was needed to be in the center but on the corner side as an actual logo. So promoting something fun should have been a better marketing tactic to get more customers.  If this ad is for others to know about their store I think its pretty neutral yet at the same time it was just a quick glance with no attention.

However, on the good side, if you love playing games and are shopping around Rosedale Mall with no GameStop stores nearby, you should definitely go check out Games N Go. Why? Because they have this gaming device set up where you can play and test out the game displayed. For instance, an Xbox or the older gaming systems back in 1990’s. It’s great if you were born around that year! You’ll feel like a kid all over again!
